Wright Construction is pleased to announce that we are a recent recipient of the Associated General Contractors of Vermont Best Builder Award for outstanding quality and effort in the category of Building and Renovation Academia for the Leland and Gray Union High School project.

The Best Builder Awards are given in an annual competition recognizing significant projects with a focus on special accomplishments, safety, excellence in project management, excellence in client service, the projects contribution to the community and meeting the challenges of a difficult job. Frank Rucker, CFO for Windsor Central Supervisory Union, best summed the project by commenting “excellent experience and result, we felt we received outstanding value for our investment. On time, on budget, with enhanced final result.”

Brett Wright has been the sole owner of Wright Construction for 25 years. After more than 40 years of working in the construction industry, Brett decided that some form of succession plan was necessary to insure that the company would maintain a strong position within the industry moving forward. Senior Project Manager Carl Lavallee was promoted to Vice President of Operations and has acquired an ownership position. Project Manager Joe Poston was promoted to Senior Project Manager and has also acquired an ownership position. Carl who is 38 and Joe who is 27 have both proven themselves to be skillful project managers focused on successfully moving the company forward. The actual ownership transition is a multi-year plan so Brett is expected to play an active role in company operations for several more years.
