Mt. St. Joseph Academy, Rutland, VT 1998
This $1,100,000 project consisted of extensive renovations to the 1927 and 1957 wings of the Mt. St. Joseph Academy. The renovations included modernization of the library area, and installation of a state-of-the-art computer classroom. The main office and reception area were relocated to a newly developed grand entrance providing a more central entrance to the building.
The new entry includes a covered walkway with a ramp to provide modern handicapped access to the facility. Upgrading and modernization of the phone and data systems throughout the building and general code compliance modifications on all three floors were accomplished.
This project was successfully completed on an extremely compressed schedule, with over 90% of the work being completed while school was out for the summer session. A high level of cooperation between the general contractor, subcontractors, the owner and the design team allowed the work of this project to be accomplished on a tight schedule.
